Vivobarefoot Review - Gobi HiTops, Primus Lite, Fulham

I have been slowly building up my collection of Vivobarefoot brand shoes, and I love them. My choices have been helped by reviews from others, so I thought I'd do my own review. These reviews are in no way supported by Vivo, and the links are not affiliate links.

In general, my feet are well suited to Vivobarefoot as I have "skinny" feet (low foot volume) and narrow heels. I've been really happy with the ways the shoes feel on my feet, with no heel slippage but plenty of room for my toes to spread out! I buy size 40 womens style, and my foot is generally size 9 to 9.5 US.

Gobi Hi Tops

I bought these in brown. I love the way they look and feel; I love the fuzzy insides, and the thermal insole is very effective. I find these boots comfortable down to -10 C, and -15 if I am being active. They have gone through two winters now and I have worn them a lot since we have thankfully had some milder winters here in Saskatchewan! I have the tops tied loosely, and I pull the boots on instead of tying them up each time. And even with my narrow feet and heels, they don't slip as I walk.

Primus Lite in Womens and Kids

I have these in black/mesh for myself, and both of my kids wear Primus shoes in Junior sizes. We have two pairs of the green and black, and one pair of orange shoes.
I have found these to be extremely durable for both me and the kids. The toggle strap on the kids shoes is great. The laces of the adult shoes are a bit weird and slippery, but I have tied mine firmly and leave them, and I pull the shoes on each time instead of tying them. If we walk in deep sand, it does get into the shoes through the mesh. It doesn't bother me because our yard isn't sandy, but the kids sometimes complain about their sandy shoes after playing in their playground at school. We have all worn these shoes for 2 summers, and one pair of the green kids shoes has been in full usage as indoor school shoes. They are all holding up great. I add the thermal insole in the fall to all of our shoes, to get further warm wear out of them.

Fulham Boots

I bought these chelsea-style boots in brown. I needed a good work boot for our ranch, and I am THRILLED with these! They fit and feel very similar to the gobi boots, without the fuzzy insides, and perfect for summer and fall. They came with the thermal insoles but I have taken them out for the summer. The bare insides of the shoes are still comfortable. I have only had these boots for a month (purchased March 2019) but they feel great and durable, able to hold up to the heavy work of the ranch. It felt a little weird to wear such beautiful boots in the cow poop of the corrals, but they cleaned off nicely and I was so happy to have comfortable work boots instead of wearing rubber boots. The height of the upper is perfect, they are snug without feeling tight or binding on my ankles, and my feet are just so happy in my new work boots!!! UPDATE Sept 2020: I have worn through the soles on these shoes. I'm pretty disappointed that they only lasted 18 months, but I love them a lot and they happen to be on sale right now, so I'm buying another pair.)
