You're at a restaurant. The server brings out your meal and says "enjoy your supper!" You say, "Thanks, you too!" and there's a weird moment where everyone knows what you said was stupid but nobody says anything. And then everyone pretends it didn't happen.
Humans are extraordinarily brilliant and confoundingly stupid at the same time.
I love it.
